Pro-Lab RA100 Radon Gas Do It Yoursef Test Kit

Get a long-term tester instead.
I bought one of these 4-day test kits and got a 13.2 reading for my $30. They then recommend that you immediately test AGAIN for another $30. No thanks. I did some on-line research and found out that frozen ground and rain can affect your results, nothing about that in the test kit or results sheet from Pro-Lab. Both of those scenarios came into play during my 4-day test. Instead of giving them another $30, I got the Safety Siren Pro 3 long-term radon detector. It's been going for 7 days now and my first reading was 7.7, half of the other test. Then it went down gradually to 4.8, and now it's gone back up to 8.0. This is all within 7 days. So you can seen how a 4-day test can be extremely inaccurate and misleading. Get a long-term detector instead. That will also allow you to move the detector around your basement and possibly pinpoint the area of issue. Safety Siren Pro 3 Radon Detectors, EPA Evaluated

This company is unresponsive and leaves you on hold for hours
PROFESSIONAL LAB INC Pro Radon Gas Test Kit is simple to use but I never heard from them with results. I waited a few weeks then email got no response then call only to be left on hold for an hour only to be finally transfer to a tape machine. Pretty infuriating customer service. I would avoid them in the future and am now searching for an alternative.

Don't waste your money on this kit COSTLY and HIGHLY inaccurate
The first kit I bought I got a result of 13.1 which is higher than what the EPA deems as safe radon levels. So I decided to take a second test. This test came back within the safe level of 3.1. Both tests were taken within two weeks of one another and within 20 feet of each other. 2 tests later and over $70 spent on the kits and the lab fees, I still don't know what the real radon levels are in my home. The best part is when I called customer service I spoke to a "service rep" in the Radon test dept who didn't seem to know what she was doing and who put me on hold several times, only to ultimately disconnect me. When I called back and spoke to the supervisor of the radon group she acted as if she was inconvenienced by having to speak with someone about the product. The company seems to be very unorganized and low rent. Last, they provide a list by state of supposed government agencies that give information on radon. In true fashion the number they provided (Oregon) was...
